Wyoming Old Style plate in 1/24
I needed an older Wyoming Plate to perfectly round out my Porsche tractor build, and I'm excited to share that it is now available for your 1/24 scale model projects. This plate boasts sufficient thickness to maintain scale accuracy while featuring enough raised sections on the stamping, allowing for precise and careful painting. The technique I discovered that produces the best results is to first paint the plate in a glossy black finish (I used MR Hobby Lacquer), and after it has completely dried, flood the low spots with a mixture of AK Interactive Inks—specifically, I blended red and yellow to achieve a vibrant tint. However, I’m confident that thinned acrylic paints would also yield impressive results. Finally, I completed the detail with some AK aluminum acrylic paint to create a weathered effect on the edges, as well as to enhance the back and accentuate the screws. The stamping effect truly stands out as an excellent detail choice when compared to a traditional decal type of plate, elevating the overall aesthetic of your model.
